Urgent Security Brief: GlobeTier Infrastructure Hardened & Fully Patched
We are writing to inform you of two major global security vulnerabilities that were identified this week affecting cPanel/WHM and the Linux Kernel (CloudLinux).
At GlobeTier, your infrastructure's security is our absolute priority. We are writing to inform you of two major global security vulnerabilities that were identified this week affecting cPanel/WHM and the Linux Kernel (CloudLinux).
Our technical team has been working around the clock to secure our network. Below is a detailed summary of the situation and the actions taken.
1. Managed Services (Shared Hosting, Reseller, & Managed VPS)
Status: SECURED If your services are managed by GlobeTier, no action is required from your side.
-
cPanel Patch: We have already force-updated all control panels to the secure versions (including 11.134.0.20).
-
Kernel Hardening: We have implemented the official mitigations for the "Copy Fail" kernel exploit (CVE-2026-31431) across our entire fleet.
2. Unmanaged Services (Self-Managed VPS & Dedicated)
Status: ACTION REQUIRED If you manage your own server, you must manually apply these critical security updates immediately to prevent unauthorized access or privilege escalation.
Step A: Patching cPanel
Log in to your server via SSH as root and execute:
/scripts/upcp --force
Verified Secure Versions: Ensure your version is one of the following (or higher): 11.110.0.97 | 11.118.0.63 | 11.126.0.54 | 11.132.0.29 | 11.136.0.5 | 11.134.0.20
Step B: Patching Linux Kernel (Copy Fail)
For servers running CloudLinux 8, 9, or 10, apply the mandatory mitigation to disable the vulnerable component:
grubby --update-kernel=ALL --args="initcall_blacklist=algif_aead_init"
reboot
Note: A server reboot is required for this change to take effect.
Important Note on EOL Systems
If your server is running an unsupported or End-of-Life (EOL) version of cPanel or OS, it will not receive these patches. We strongly urge you to migrate to a supported version immediately.
